April 7, 2008 The first mow of the spring.
The rain has past and now the grass on your lawn is starting to grow. Remember, don’t let your lawn get to high before you mow it for the first time. Cutting the grass when it is too high will clump and leave excess grass clippings everywhere.
If you are in need of a lawn mowing service, give St. Louis Lawn Care a call. St. Louis Lawn Care is experienced and will maintain your lawn like it is our own. |

April 15, 2008 Warm weather
It looks like the warm weather is finally here. The lawns are starting to grow, and I can tell a big difference in lawns that were fertilized and ones that were not. The lawns that have been fertilized are greener and have an overall more healthier look.
There is a yard in South County that I fertilize. Before I fertilized it the grass was clumpy and looked un healthy. Now that it has been fertilized the grass is growing and looks much healthier.
I seeded a couple of yards in Kirkwood and University City and now the seed is starting to germinate in this warm weather.
The warm weather seems to make everything better. The trees are blooming and the grass is growing.
It is now the season to be thinking about a lawn service. St. Louis Lawn Care is a reliable lawn care service company that cares about your yard.

May 15, 2008 April and May Showers
This spring in St. Louis has been unusually wet. But, it has give us some deep waterings. The deep waterings help root growth. It is better to apply one deep watering to the lawn than to water for a few minutes multiple times per week. The deep watering encourages roots to grow and develop deep within the soil. Ideal watering is one deep watering once a week. Even in the heat of the summer, one or two deep waterings is better than watering for a few minutes every day.
This rain in the spring shows how beneficial deep waterings can be for your yard. Lawns are growing and looking healthy.
The lawns are growing at a tremendous rate here in St. Louis. If you are unable to keep up with the lawn mowing give St. Louis Lawn Care a call. St. Louis Lawn Care will give your grass a professional looking cut. |

May 30, 2008 Looking Back on Spring and Forward to Summer
This past spring has been very wet, unusually wet actually. The news the other day said that this was St. Louis’ seventh wettest May on record, and that is not even counting the rain we are getting tonight. This rain will keep the grass growing into the summer months we are coming up upon.
Remember that St. Louis summers are hot and humid. When the weather is hot the mowing height needs to be adjusted. Mowing at a higher level will shade the ground and grass roots. This shade will keep the roots cooler and will keep your grass greener.
St. Louis Lawn Care is experienced and will mow your lawn at the correct height based on the weather and season. |
