Fast Food Places in St. Louis |
|
Penn Station—Multiple locations. Penn Station is the place to get a sub sandwich. This place is famous for the cheese-steak sandwich. This is what I get when I go. It is the only thing I have ever gotten there. For the vegetarian they have the artichoke sandwich which is very good as well. I have had a few bites. Their prices are a little more than Subway’s but it is well worth it. They have sandwiches from that range from $5-9. I recommend this place for a good hot sub sandwich. |
|
Qdoba Mexican Grill– Multiple Locations Qdoba is like a Mexican Subway. Pick your burrito, tacos or nachos and pick the toppings to go on it. It is a good place to go and grab a quick burrito when you are short on time. Qdoba has very good burritos and great queso cheese dip. The best thing to do is to get the queso on the burrito. I like the queso burrito with chicken. It is an o.k. deal with prices around $5-7. I would recommend it. |

Long John Silvers– Multiple Locations You can’t beat this place for some fast beer battered fish. This place has great hushpuppies and shrimp also. I usually go for the fish and shrimp platter. The coleslaw is very good as well. Prices are reasonable for a fried basket of food. Prices range form $4-7 for a meal. I recommend this place for some quick beer battered seafood. |

Lions Choice—Multiple Locations
This might be one of the most underrated places to eat in St. Louis. Lions Choice has the best roast beef sandwich. I suggest getting the roast beef sandwich with cheddar cheese. Get the roast beef, and get the au jus to go with it. Their sandwiches are getting a little pricey, but I can’t resist the roast beef sandwich. I got two roast beef sandwiches with cheddar, fries and a drink for $9. I recommend this place for one of the best roast beef sandwiches in St. Louis.
Apparently Lion's Choice was voted best roast beef sandwich from the Riverfront Times readers poll. This is deservingly so. Lions Choice is on of the best place to get a roast beef sandwich in St. Louis, period. It doesn't matter if it is a fast food place, good food is good food. I would rather have a Lion's Choice roast beef sandwich than any other restaurants roast beef sandwiches, except for a few. You can't beat the tender roast beef served with au jus. The seasoning at Lion's Choice also makes the sandwich. |
|
Culver’s– Multiple Locations Culver's is always packed. It is packed because it is good. Culver's is fairly new to St. Louis and they have made a big splash. If you like Steak n Shake hamburgers, then you will love Culver's. Culver's is a step up on taste, and quality. Culver's has a variety of foods. They have the usual burger, but they also have some different items such as the pot roast sandwich, which I had a bite of and it was excellent. Culver's is a fast food restaurant that serves better food than most sit down restaurants. |
|
Quizno’s—Multiple Locations Quizno’s is a sandwich, subshop that specializes in toasted subs. They have a variety of toasted subs, soups and salads. They have chicken, turkey, roastbeef, and ham sandwiches. I got the Turkey, Bacon, Guacamole sandwich. This sandwich has turkey and bacon that is sent through the toaster. After the toaster Quizno’s adds the veggies of your choice. Prices are around $5 for a small sandwich, $7 for a medium and around $8.50 for a large sandwich. I like to have a sandwich from here every once in a while, but I could not eat this place every day.

Hardee’s—Multiple Locations It has been a while since I went to Hardee's and I was short on time, so I went. I have heard so much about their "thick burgers" and how they were supposed to be so good.
Hardee's is claiming to have the best burger in town, period. This advertising may work on others, because whoever is saying that Hardee's has the best burger is dead wrong. They don't even have the best burger in the fast food industry. I would much rather eat a Culver's, or White Castle burger instead of Hardee's. I ordered the sourdough thickburger. The burger seemed like an ordinary burger to me. Hardee's offers nothing different than any other fast food joint. It had the pale brown look of the every fast food burger that I have eaten, with the exception of a few quality places.
I went into Hardee's at about 5:15 p.m. The place had three people inside eating. I don't know how this place stays open. Hardee's better think of something that distinguishes them from the other fast food places or I don't see how they can stay in business much longer. Almost all of the Wendys' closed in St. Louis, and I can see Hardee's doing the same thing.
Prices: $5.47 for a sourdough thickburger and a drink |

Arby’s—Multiple Locations Arby's is a fast food restaurant that has really grown over the past five to seven years. They started out as a place to get a roast beef sandwich, hence the name "Arby's" (RBs). I don't think their roast beef sandwiches are near as good as Lions Choice's. Now Arby's has more to offer on their menu, like the market fresh sandwiches, which have really taken off. Arby's started making thier food with higher quality ingredients, and this is when they really started growing.
I went to Arby's wanting to get the pick 5 for $5.95 but I ended up getting one of their new toasted subs. This is a new item they have been advertising in the last month or so. I got the turkey club toasted sub, fries and a drink. The turkey club, had turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato on a grilled loaf of bread. This turkey club was o.k., I probably would not get it again if I were to go back. I should of ordered the "pick 5 for 5.95". This is a great deal. You have your choice of a roast beef sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich, cheese sticks, potato cakes, fries, a drink and a shake. You could make a meal for two for $5.95, I think that is a good deal.
Prices: Toasted turkey club, fries and a drink for $7.50

Moe’s Southwest Grill—Multiple Locations Moe's Mexican Grill is just like Q'doba or Chipotle, except Moe's has a salsa bar and they give you chips for free. If Q'doba or Chipotle were to do these things then I would like them all the same. But I can pick my salsa and I get chips I like Moe's better.
Similar to Q'doba or Chipotle, at Moe's you pick the stuff you want or don't want on your burrito, tacos, or nachos as you walk down the line. The only Moe's that I know of around here is the one off Olive. It is packed at lunch time. I get what they call the "Home wrecker" It has your choice of meat, beans, rice, sour cream, and salsa. I usually add queso cheese on it as well. This burrito is so good, you better be hungry, because it is huge.
Prices: At Moe's you will pay about $8.50 for a burrito, and a drink. |
